The All Pakistan Music Conference (APMC) Karachi came into being to provide crucial support to the endangered heritage of Pakistan’s traditional music & dance. Our cultural traditions inform our personal identity and collective worth as a society. At APMC Karachi, we believe that cultural awareness is integral to a healthy society and free access to it is the right of every individual.

World music band, Berlin To Lahore performs for the Murki Initiative!
The Murki Initiative is an Eastern music initiation programme for youth; to inculcate in them an appreciation of the rich cultural confluence in the region we inhabit. Our 'Explorations in Music' component of this programme provides an opportunity for students to experience music through interaction with formal practitioners from across musical genres.
Ustad Hamid Ali Khan at NAPA Karachi
Foremost exponent of the Patiala gharana tradition, Ustad Hamid Ali Khan, performed to an enthralled full house at the National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA) in August.
Accompaniment was provided by Tabla maestro, Ustad Bashir Khan, Akhtar Hussain on Harmonium, Gul Mohammad on Sarangi and Wajid Ali on Tanpura.
Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP) certifies APMC Karachi
As a testament to its persistent efforts APMC Karachi received PCP’s certification for non-profit good practice. Heartened to have received tax-exempt status on this basis.

APMC Karachi, is a registered not-for-profit, which was setup with a vision to preserve and revive the traditional arts of music and dance of Pakistan.
What We Do
Keep abreast of APMC Karachi’s activities: showcasing both maestros and younger artists, introducing Pakistan’s youth to our rich music and dance traditions, and documenting the history and wisdom of our musical gharanas.
